Welcome to my Blog!
My first published novel, Stranded in Love, was written in 1994, before I met and married my husband, Larry. He was the kindest, sweetest, most romantic man I had ever met (that’s why I married him!). He’d had a bad accident on the job before I met him and, unfortunately, had to deal with severe pain and major health issues for the rest of his life.
But that didn’t stop us from having fun, exploring the Caribbean on a few cruises, seeing this beautiful country on a thoroughly enjoyable train trip to Vancouver and back, and hosting lots of Christmas Eve parties and summer barbeques. Larry’s steaks were always done to perfection! And my potato salad wasn’t too bad, either.
And all this time, my novel slept quietly in my laptop, waiting for the day I would get back to it and share it with the world.
Sadly, Larry lost his battle with his many illnesses, and I lost the love of my life in March 2017. To help me deal with the grief, I needed a focus and realized that, even though my novel had been ‘on hold’ for many years, I should get busy, update the pages to reflect a modern romance and life in general (not many cell phones in ’94), and do my best to become that successful romance novelist that I’d always wanted to be, and that Larry always knew I would be.
So it was time to dust off the cobwebs, or whatever their cyber counterparts are called, and get my novel out there for you to enjoy.
One of Larry’s favourite sayings was “What’s next?” This usually referred to food or travel, but not always. He wanted his life to be an adventure (and marrying me was certainly that), but he always searched for life’s next challenge and urged me to do the same. So, this is my tribute to Larry, to do my best at what I love. My answer to his question is: Stranded in Love, a fun and feisty contemporary romance.
It’s the first in a series, all involving the siblings of Toronto’s wealthy and powerful Calderone family. The four handsome sons each get their own love story, but not before we start with their younger sister, Laney.
Stranded in Love is dedicated to Larry, because of his unwavering support, his always present smile, the sexy twinkle in his beautiful eyes, his strong arms that sheltered and protected me, and because he knew there was always time for romance. Our love will always be timeless and immeasurable.
